1. What's your process?

Love & Time. From creator and maker Janelle of Tono & Co, “Our creations are treasures worth waiting for. Created by hand, each length of ribbon is dyed, torn and delicately frayed. Our colors are a collaboration between the artist and the fabric. While we strive for consistency but keep in mind colors will vary slightly. Our handmade small batch model makes inventory small so we ask for your understanding in filling large orders. We look forward to communicating with our clients throughout the process. The warmth and beauty of our handiwork glows in the finished product.”

2. How much ribbon do I need for my bouquets?

Janelle, who’s an expert floral designer, suggests that 1 bundle is perfect for every 2 brides maid bouquets (or 2.5 yards per bouquet). For brides, “I use a full 5 yard ribbon bundle for the bridal bouquet sometimes even 2 full bundles, 10 yards total.”

3. What width ribbon is best for bouquets?

In our experience 2″ ribbon photographs best on bouquets. It really depends on how bold your bride is and how much she loves ribbon.

4. The ribbon I ordered is darker that it looks online, did you send me the wrong color?

Photographing handmade materials for online sales is tricky. A film photographer, Sposto Photography, photographed our ribbon inventory on film to capture their quality but the nature of viewing images online will always make them feel lighter. Color is always dependent on the amount of light provided so indoor or outdoor events matter as well. You are welcome to purchase samples of all of our available colors ahead of your order and ask us as many questions as you like.

5. If I have a ribbon or textile emergency can you rush my order?

Yes, we can rush orders, but keep in mind Tono & Co. is a small design company and to rush your order means they have to rush themselves. We have have a very limited inventory of the ribbons and are not stock, but made to order by hand. That being said, we will do our best to get you your order as quickly as possible.

Care Instructions

To clean your textiles you can dry clean or hand wash. Depending on the stain, silk is best washed by hand with a mild detergent, in lukewarm water. Rinse well, squeeze out surplus moisture by rolling in a towel and hang to dry. Never spot treat your silk textile. Rubbing one area of silk can cause lightening in just that spot. For moderate stain removal, especially ones in the middle, wash the entire textile. Dark or unsightly stains should be taken to a dry cleaner.
