A Healthy Kind of Love

This year’s been about eating healthier for myself and for my family. I was starting to feel guilty about feeding my kids boxed macaroni and cheese (which I still do on some days… #guilty.) and being too comfortable with always getting the same kind of frozen veggies for our meals. Like in any relationship, when you stop exploring new things, you start to feel stagnant. I knew I needed to infuse a little more adventure back in our family life ASAP, starting with what we eat! I decided to order one of those organic fruit/veggie box that gets delivered to our door, and funny enough, going through the box and seeing new kinds of fruits and veggies I don’t normally get, made me feel so… alive! I feel silly just saying it! But since then, I’ve been surprising myself (and my husband) with new recipes! So far I’ve made purple mashed potatoes, edamame with miso dressing on endives, Asian slaw with ginger peanut dressing, broiled grapefruits, and more!

So when I saw this engagement shoot submitted by Peter and Veronika Photography, with fresh organic veggies and fruits, I got completely excited! This couple is all about eating healthy and feeding your body with good nutritious food. Joseph is a nutritionist and Catherine has her own blog with a focus on healthy and delicious recipes (if only I could read Slovak!). The table was full of the healthiest things under the sun, like tasty organic vegetable, self-made fruit and vegetable juices, and original edible bouquet created by Atelier Papaver. Enjoy!
