{oh, hello friend}: A Proposal
We are big, big fans of {oh, hello friend} . I recently ran across the story of Danni’s proposal and just HAD to share. This story has the perfect mix of emotions — innocence, surprise, excitement, and happiness — and will fill your heart with warm fuzzies.
A little background: Danni’s fiancee Nick planned a surprise weekend trip to Seattle — Danni’s favorite place because she *loves* the rain. Nick wanted to capture the proposal in pictures, so about a month before the trip, Nick contacted Laurel McConnell and mapped out a plan, which included Nick sending Laurel a couple pictures that he wanted her to put onto her camera (you’ll see).
The Proposal: The day of the proposal, Nick took Danni on a ferry Bainbridge. Surprise, surprise, Laurel and her friend Darrah were on the ferry snapping pictures of “themselves”.
From Laurel: “I was REALLY snapping pics of Danni and Nick, acting all cute-like in the background. Nick not only woke up his sleepy girlfriend from her short snooze on the relaxing ferry, but dragged her out to the violently blustery (um, understatement of the year) deck to watch the silly girls shooting pictures and take in the sea air. He gets an A+ for his mad setup skills- he kept pulling her into ideal spots for us to snag some shots no matter what her agenda was!”
From Danni: “on the ferry, i notice these 2 girls taking photographs of each other. they were really hilarious cause the wind was blowing so hard but they were having so much fun. i kind of glanced at one of them and thought “did they just take our picture?” but i didn’t want to be paranoid so i didn’t think anything more of it.”
Danni and Nick’s destination was the Bloedel Reserve, surrounded by a forest and gardens. As they walk through the forest, Danni and Nick happen to wander by Laurel and Darrah.
From Laurel: “ “Oh my gosh! Hey! Weren’t you the guys on the ferry?” chimes Darrah. Luckily, Danni totally remembered us as being the silly tourist girls on the deck getting blown over by the wind, and being all smiles, greeted us like old friends as Nick gave “The Look” to mean it’s “Go Time.”

“I saw you guys, and I took some really cute pictures of you. Wanna see?”

From Danni: “since at this point i sort of knew what was happening, I said “sure!” instead of thinking “why did this random stranger take pictures of us on the ferrie, creeepy!!”
so she starts flipping through some pictures she took and then we come to these 4 images, she flips through them one at a time:”

From Danni: “I turn around and nicholas is on one knee with a ring.”

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Has your heart melted into a big puddle yet? I know mine has! Thank you to Danni for sharing her special day with us!
