Before & After : The DryBar Blowout Makeover

Brides, are you looking for a little beauty help? Especially for all the special events you’re attending before your big day? Engagement session, rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, bachelorette parties, you name it. Let’s face it, a little help from the beauty gods will save your life as a bride. It’s already hard enough trying to plan your wedding. Well the DryBar is your answer sent from heaven. No cuts, no color, just blowouts for only $35 (wash included!). At the Drybar they will make you feel chic, cool, pampered, loved, adored, and beautiful when you leave. Who doesn’t love that?  Not only is it good for your wedding budget ( wink! that means you can do it more than once) but you get to squeeze in a little “me” time. Can I get an AMEN?!

From our Bridal Shower Blowout Inspired photoshoot for Issue #14 we thought it would be fun to show how a before & after from simple blowout can make a huge difference. So much fun right?! This would be a great bridesmaids gift to your girls too! Go on make an appointment already. You’ll thank us! Thank the beauty gods too.

Calligraphy Classes at The Wedding Pantry

I don’t know about you, but I *swoon* over beautiful calligraphy. I know I would be absolutely giddy if I received a calligraphed invitation or seating card in my name!  If you are thinking of trying your hand at calligraphy for your wedding, or even if you just want to learn for fun, The Wedding Pantry is holding calligraphy classes in October.

Karen Jewell, Master Calligrapher & designer of the 8-page Michael Jackson Memorial Invitation will be teaching Beginning Italic Calligraphy classes every Saturday in October (2, 9, 16, 23, 30) from 10:30AM - 12PM.  You will learn how to address an envelope, do place cards, name tags, and more.

The cost for all 5 classes is $125.00 + a $15.00 material fee (includes notebook, lettering pages, practice sheets, envelopes, and calligraphy pen)

There are only 15 spots available, so hurry and sign up before it’s all sold out!

To secure a spot, please send your check to Karen Jewell: 1403 Leeland Way, Tustin, CA 92782.  If you have any questions you can call Karen at (949) 836-1833.

It must be Hotel Maya week. Since I’ve written the article I’ve seen it pop up everywhere (Hi Hotel Maya, my name is Alison and I am available for PR work!). Anyways, while perusing Jetsetter (how I wish that ONE DAY I’ll get to book a vacation through their site) I saw that Hotel Maya will be on sale on Wed. June 9th! Perfect for a weekend getaway!

{Issue 010} Haute Glue Couture

Happy Tuesday everyone! We hope you had a relaxing three day weekend.  Our weekend was full of weddings and prepping for the launch of our latest issue: Haute Glue Couture!

picture-5

We are so excited to finally share with you what we have been working on for the past month. To celebrate the launch of this issue, Eva, Henny, and Lucy decided to celebrate by hosting a s’mores themed launch party at The Wedding Pantry last night. It was SO good. Lots of friendly faces showed up including Darla of Darla Marie Designs, Gloria McCune of Grand Engagements, Christina Wright and her hubby from Simply Modern Weddings, Megan Gray of Ghost Academy, Monica Majors of Paper Cut Industries, Dana and her hubby of Broke Ass Bride, Bride and Bloom, and Kris of Krashing Motions Photography

Thank you to all those who came out, and if you missed it, look out for the next launch party!
