The Special Fizz & Frills Issue No. 24 is here!

final_issue24_cover

Sip on some fizz and bring on the frills!

The anticipated Fizz & Frills special issue here! On September 9, 2012, we hosted our second Fizz & Frills in the charming Old Town Pasadena with Lovely Jubilee and had great success! We had a tremendous turnout of brides and frill lovers alike, ready to shop and be inspired for their big day. We were absolutely thrilled to bring awesome shops, like 31 Bits, Paper Pastries, Olivia Nelson, Daughters of Simone, Petit Plume, Ticings, J and R Foods, Veiled Beauty and many more! Check out our full recap on p. 94.

In this issue, we talk about a city safari wedding that the Utterly Engaged team put together for Propel, a photography workshop by Caroline Tran. You will get a behind-the-scene look at a photographer’s passion to share and teach her craft to aspiring photographers and artists, and how an editorial shoot unfolds. You will find these Propellers in our 11 up and coming photographers to watch out for in 2013.

The frill lover in you will also get tickled pink by a dramatically romantic wedding filled with sparkle and glamour, set in the historic Plaza Hotel in New York. And if you remember Hazel Bourget of Blu Bungalow, the elite event planning studio where we held the first Fizz & Frills last year, you will enjoy the He Said/She Said article in this issue, where we interviewed her and her husband of 8 years on their love story.

As we near the end of 2012, we leave you with this last issue for the year and we will be taking time to reflect on the years past and look to the future to set new goals to reach new heights. We look forward to see in the new year!

Cheers,

Lucia & Henny

Sweet Love Making in the Kitchen

Okay, get your mind out of that dirty sink disposal. We’re not gonna show you some sexy pictures on this blog (unless it involves Channing Tatum or Matthew McConaughey… okay, for a moment there I lost my train of thoughts). But what we will show you is a couple whose relationship centers around food and the kitchen. Katharyn and Joshua spent a great deal of their time together trying new restaurants, traveling to places where they can explore different cuisines, but no matter how many new places or countries they visit, there is no place quite like their kitchen table, where cooking becomes a bonding experience and a place where they can just be themselves and enjoy each other’s company. And I couldn’t agree more! (Read point #1) You ladies should really try this at home because as you can see in the pictures below, he can hardly keep his hands off her! So props to KT and Joshua for giving us this sweet cooking inspiration!

And turns out that Katharyn has her own food blog called love.making.in.the.kitchen (hello!) and she’s kind enough to share the recipe behind the yummy blueberry cobbler pictured above. This recipe is easy peasy and can make any lady look like a pro! (a total plus for us newbies in the kitchen!) So be sure to come back later for the recipe!

A Sunshiny Spring Engagement at Gig Harbor, WA

Okay, that title alone should intrigue you. We all know how cold and gray a Spring day in Washington could be, but the day Althea and Cory planned their engagement photo session in their hometown of Gig Harbor, the  sun decided to come out and take a peek at these two lovebirds. The photos that they ended up with came out oh-so-lovely with vibrant colors! Don’t you love it when the weather play nice?
